Marriyum Aurangzeb says neither government land nor funds were used in Ashiana Housing Scheme
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former federal minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that the arrest of party president and Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was an act of political vengeance.
Talking to media in Islamabad on Friday, she said that the PML-N president was summoned by NAB in "Saaf Pani" case, but was arrested in Ashiana Housing scheme.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said that neither government land nor funds were used in Ashiana Housing Scheme.
She said no prior information or warrant was issued before arrest of Shahbaz Sharif.
The PML-N spokesperson said that the PML-N leadership has gone through accountability, but corruption of not a single penny had been proved against them.
She said that the PML-N leaders were reviewing the situation and the party will devise a strategy after thorough deliberations on the issue, adding that the party workers and leaders are united.
Marriyum Aurangzeb went on to say that Shahbaz Sharif has carried out several projects in various parts of Punjab and specifically focused on backward areas for development.
